The boats

  • Is there a toilet on board?

    There is a small toilet available on most of our boats.

  • We are celebrating a birthday, can we decorate the boat?

    Yes! The boat can be decorated with streamers and balloons! Please contact us if you want the boat to arrive somewhat earlier to have time to decorate it.

  • Can we sail on our wedding day?

    Ofcourse! In case of hot weather, the top of the boat can be covered so that you can sit in the cool shade. When it rains, both the top and the side of the boat can be covered. The sides have windows through which you can look outside. Of course you can decorate the boat on the special day. You can always call us if you have any questions.

  • Is there a table on board?

    Yes! The tables are ideal for putting down drinks and bites. Good to know: the distance between the benches and the table is somewhat wider as there is a walking path between them.

  • Can I sail during the winter?

    Yes! Our boats can be fully covered and heated. You can even enjoy hot chocolate, mulled wine and stews on board! Are you a meat-lover? Then the winter-BBQ with biological meat might be the perfect choice! Candles on, blankets covering your knees... The perfect event during the dark winter days!

  • Is the boat sailed by a skipper?

    Yes! All trips are sailed by a skipper. It is not possible to sail yourself on one of our boats.

  • How many people fit on one boat?

    Our three luxury boats are suitable for 42 persons each and they have seats for a large part of the group. Following, we can organize trips for 126 persons. Looking for a trip with more than 126 persons? Please contact us.

  • Can I organize a meeting on board?

    Our boats are very suitable for meetings! With arranged drinks and bites, the best moment of your working week will be on one of our boats. We are happy to help you set up the perfect program and meeting location! You might just have the best brainstorm or scrum-session on board.

The boattrip

  • Can I bring my dog?

    A ship's dog that behaves properly on board is always welcome!

  • Are other boarding or drop off locations possible?

    There are certainly other boarding and drop off locations possible. See the page about alternative boarding locations. You can always contact us if you want to board somewhere specific.

  • Where can I park my car?

    The Vaartsche Rijn parking garage is located 100 meters south of the Oosterkade. Walk along the water to the dock of the Oosterkade.

  • How do disabled persons get to the boarding point near the wharf cellar?

    Please note that you have to go down some stairs to get to the dock of the Oosterkade. There are handrails on these stairs. There is also space for two supporting chaperones on the stairs. If this is not sufficient, people can be picked up in front of the Winkel van Sinkel. At this boarding location, a tunnel can be used to reach the wharf level and people in a wheelchair can be lifted on board  by their caregivers. Our skippers are happy to help, but cannot/may not be responsible for the lifting. Unfortunately, if a person cannot board safely accompanied by their own caregivers, it is not possible to board. If you have any questions, feel free to call.

  • Can we bring drinks and bites ourselves?

    Yes! You can bring the catering yourself. Delivery by delivery service is also possible. Please contact us if you want to use such services.

  • Can we bring drinks and bites beforehand?

    Unfortunately, we do not have a refrigerator where we can store external snacks and drinks. There is limited space for storage on the boat. Catering or delivering items in advance is usually not possible, but we might be able to help you find a solution. Please give us a call to discuss the storage!

  • Is the drinks packages unlimited?

    An average of 3 drinks per person per hour is calculated. There will be variety of drinks on board, but the amount of drinks will not be unlimited. The drinks packages may only be consumed during the trip. It is not allowed to take some drinks with you after the trip.

  • Are children allowed on board?

    Little sailors are more than welcome! We have some special life jackets for children. Children up to the age of 2 do not pay anything for the packages. Children from 3 to 10 years of age pay 50% of the price of a package. We will put half of the normal amount of food on board for them.

  • What is the minimal duration of the trip?

    The minimal duration of the boattrip is 1.5 hours.

  • What is the standard route?

    A 1.5 hours trip: Oosterkade - Ledig Erf - Singel around the center - Bemuurde Weerd - Oude Gracht - Catharijnesingel (partially) - Oosterkade. A 3 hours trip: Oosterkade - Ledig Erf - Kromme Rijn to A27 - Singel around the center - Bemuurde Weerd - Oude Gracht - Catherijnesingel (partially) - Oosterkade. During a 4 hours trip is this one of the most beautiful routes: Oosterkade - Ledig Erf - Kromme Rijn to teahouse Rhijnauwen - Singel around the center - Bemuurde Weerd - Oude Gracht - Oosterkade. Unique The route can always be changed in consultation with the skipper. Please contact us in advance for special wishes.

  • Can music be played on board?

    The municipality of Utrecht prohibits any form of amplified music on board. An acoustic guitar, accordion or singing a song yourself is of course allowed!

  • What are the codes of conduct on board?

    1. Always listen to the skipper's instructions on board. 2. As your safety on board very important, it is not allowed to swim or hang (partially) outboard before, during or after the boattrip. Boarding and getting of the boat is only possible after approval from the skipper. 3. In order to keep the unique canals of Utrecht beautiful, it is not allowed to throw items or waste overboard or leave them at the boarding and drop off location. 4. Everyone wants a nice boat trip with a cozy atmosphere! That is why undesired, provocative and/or aggressive behavior towards fellow passengers and/or the skipper(s) is an immediate reason to discontinue the cruise. 5. Above all: enjoy the wonderful boattrip!
